Palatka, FL : 18-year-old Arthur Young seriously injured after being hit by car being chased by police in Putnam County on Saturday night, March 21, 2015

A high school senior was seriously injured in a crash after he was hit by a car that was involved in a police chase in Putnam County Saturday night.
The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office says the incident started around 10:30 p.m. Saturday when deputies tried to pull over a Nissan Pathfinder that had been reported stolen earlier in the evening.
The driver took off, lost control, and hit another car head-on in the intersection of St Johns and Palm Avenue.
The driver of the stolen Pathfinder, 20-year-old Romeo Staples, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the second car and the passenger in the stolen Pathfinder were taken to UF-Health in Gainesville with serious injuries.
