MESA, AZ : Deadly motorcycle crash blocks several eastbound US 60 lanes near Mesa on Wednesday, 15th May 2024

A Mesa man is dead following a collision on U.S. 60 in the East Valley Wednesday afternoon. He’s been identified as 21-year-old Derrick Kleinschmidt.The collision happened just before 3:30 p.m. on U.S. 60 near Val Vista Drive. According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, investigators believe Kleinschmidt rear-ended another vehicle on the highway and was thrown from his motorcycle. He was then hit by other vehicles and pronounced dead at the scene.
