MONROE COUNTY, MI : Michigan woman struck killed while walking along road on Monday, 29th January 2024

A 33-Newport woman was killed in Frenchtown Township early Monday when she was struck by a semitractor-trailer while walking along North Monroe Street, the Monroe County Sheriff's Office reported.

The incident happened when Rory Tobin, 33, was wearing dark clothing while walking in the lane of traffic along North Monroe Street just north of Santure Road shortly before 2:30 a.m., according to the sheriff's report.
