GRAHAM COUNTY, AZ : Driver killed in two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 70 on Monday, 2nd March, 2020
U.S. Highway 70 was the scene of yet two more vehicle accidents, one of them fatal, last weekend and Monday.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS), on Saturday evening a vehicle pulled out from a convenience store and turned west toward Bylas, in front of another vehicle heading east on the highway. The two collided near milepost 300.
Three occupants of the first vehicle were transported by San Carlos EMS to Mount Graham Regional Medical Center with unspecified injuries, and two of them were admitted to the hospital. The second vehicle’s two occupants were treated at the scene.
A second, and fatal, accident occurred Monday near Bylas, at milepost 295. Shortly after noon, according to DPS, an eastbound Mazda sedan went left of center and crashed into the left side of a westbound semi tractor trailer rig.
The Mazda driver, identified by DPS as Loren Dale Wright, 34 of Bylas, suffered fatal injuries in the accident. The semi driver was uninjured.
According to DPS, impairment had not been ruled out in either accident; the crashes remained under investigation.
