MULTNOMAH COUNTY, OR : 2 dead, 1 seriously hurt in crash after fleeing from Gresham police in stolen car on Tuesday, 25th June 2024

Two people are dead and one is seriously hurt after Portland police say a driver in a stolen car fled a traffic stop and then crashed into another car early Tuesday morning.

At about 12:14 a.m., Gresham police officers tried to stop a stolen car in the area of Southeast 159th Avenue and Southeast Division Street. The driver did not stop and fled from officers.

The suspect driver then crashed into another car and a utility pole near the intersection of Southeast 139th Avenue and Southeast Division Street. Power was cut to people in the area due to the crash.

Police say two men were found dead inside the car that fled. Another man in that car was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.
