Crash leaves Newark motorcyclist dead

A late night crash leaves a Newark motorcyclist dead.

Shortly after 10 last night (Saturday) 25 year-old Jose Lopez-Medina was riding eastbound on East Chestnut Hill Road.

He struck the side of an SUV making a left turn from the westbound lanes.

Lopez-Medina was thrown from the motorcycle.

He was taken to Christiana Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The accident investigation continues.

No charges have been filed against the driver of the SUV.
