Wesley ,ME : 19 - Years old woman killed after her vehicle collided head-on with a logging truck on Thursday morning ,May 7th 2015

A 19-year-old woman was killed Thursday morning when her vehicle collided head-on with a logging truck on Route 9.

Kayla Robinson of Trescott was pronounced dead at the scene.

Robinson was traveling east towards Calais at approximately 5 a.m. when it appears her vehicle crossed the center line, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. Her car collided head on with the logging truck driven by Dale Earle, 55, of Calais.

Robinson was ejected from her vehicle upon impact.

A passenger in Earle’s truck sustained minor injuries. Both men were taken to Down East Community Hospital for blood tests, as is required following a fatal motor vehicle crash.

Deputies, members of the Wesley Fire Department and Alexander first responders responded to the scene.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office with assistance from the Maine State Police.
