OAKLAND, MD : Oakland man, three teens injured in Garrett rollover crash on Saturday, February 4th 2017
An 18-year-old Oakland man was pinned beneath a vehicle that traveled out of control, struck an embankment and rolled over late Friday on Sand Flat Road, according to the Garrett County Sheriff’s Office.
Ryan Charles Hinebaugh was treated at the Garrett Regional Medical Center before being transferred to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia. A hospital spokeswoman there said Hinebaugh was in good condition Saturday.
Three youths in a Ford truck operated by Hinebaugh were also injured.
They were all treated at the Oakland hospital and discharged following the 8:04 p.m. crash.
Police said Hinebaugh was ejected from the vehicle.
None of the occupants were wearing a seat belt, police said.
Alcohol was believed to be a contributing factor in the crash, police said.
One youth was charged with consuming alcohol. Other charges are pending, according to the sheriff’s office.
Southern Rescue Squad and Deer Park Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the scene.
