WESTDALE, LA : Shreveport man killed in Red River Parish crash on Monday, 7th October 2024

A Shreveport man died early Monday morning in a two-vehicle crash in north Red River Parish.

State troopers said the crash claimed the life of Melvin Henix, 64, of Shreveport.

It happened at 4:10 a.m. on state Highway 1 at Yearwood Road. Henix was traveling north on Highway 1 when another driver, Christian West, 26, who was southbound, crossed the center line, and hit Henix's Ford pickup truck, troopers said.
