Spring Valley, MN : Three people were injured in a head-on crash at U.S. Highway 63 On Saturday, August 13th, 2016
At least three people were taken to the hospital Saturday morning after a head-on crash on U.S. Highway 63 west of Spring Valley.
One involved in the crash is in critical condition, said Bob Nellis, Mayo spokesperson, on Sunday. A passenger in one of the vehicles, 53-year-old Mary Hockman is in critical condition and there is no information available on
the others involved in the crash, Nellis said.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Cole Hockman, 19, of West Orange, N.J., was westbound on Highway 63 when his vehicle collided with another headed eastbound.
Hockman and his mother, Mary Hockman, also of West Orange, were injured and transported to Mayo Clinic Hospital - Saint Marys Campus in Rochester.
Alfred Kpaingbah, 24, of Austin, an occupant of the other car, was also transported to Saint Marys.
Information on other occupants of the second vehicle was not available at 11 a.m. Sunday. Early reports said there were at least five injured in the crash.
Emergency personnel from Grand Meadow, Stewartville, Spring Valley, Gold Cross, and two helicopters from Mayo Clinic responded to the crash, which was reported at about 10:20 a.m. The Minnesota State Patrol and
surrounding police departments also responded.
