Louisiana State Police said a motorcyclist was killed after colliding with a car that turned in front of him Sunday evening.
The victim was identified as Alan Carlyle, 54, of Baker. Authorities reported the crash happened on LA 19 (Zachary-Slaughter Highway) at Port Hudson-Pride Road, which is between Zachary and Slaughter, around 5:45 p.m.
According to Tpr. Jared Sandifer with LSP, Carlyle was riding a 2014 Honda XR650L southbound on LA 19 when a 2006 Corolla headed in the opposite direction tried to make a left turn onto Port Hudson-Pride Road. He said the car turned into Carlyle's path and he hit it on the passenger side.
Authorities reported Carlyle suffered serious injuries and was taken to Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge where he later died from his injuries.
Investigators said impairment is not suspected as a factor in the deadly wreck. They added charges may be pending.
The crash remains under investigation.
