Wendover, UT : Five injured in a rollover crash near Wendover early Friday, April 8, 2016
Speed and alcohol are part of the investigation into what caused a rollover crash that injured five people near Wendover early Friday.
About 1 a.m., an Acura TL on I-80 traveling west toward Wendover drifted off the left side of the road. The 35-year-old male driver then overcorrected, causing the car to roll multiple times and come to rest on its side, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.
"The driver and one male passenger were ejected. One female passenger was ejected. The second male passenger was partially ejected," according to the UHP.
The one female that was wearing her seatbelt was not ejected and sustained the fewest injuries, the UHP said. The others were transported by medical helicopter and ambulance to local hospitals.
The woman who was ejected was in extremely critical condition Friday night, Utah Highway Patrol trooper Evan Kirby said. The two men who were passengers were in critical condition, he said.
