Phoenix,AZ : One person killed after fatal West Valley Three -vehicle crash on Saturday afternoon ,August 15th 2015

The overnight crash occurred when an SUV collided with a car and the car veered off and hit a motorcycle, officers said.

"The rider of that motorcycle is experiencing life-threatening injuries right now," said Arizona State Trooper Seeger Jason.

By Saturday afternoon, DPS confirmed the rider had died.

The driver of the SUV, who caused the initial collision, fled the scene.

"The white SUV will have damage to the front right side," Jason said. No further vehicle description was provided.

ADOT had expected the freeway closure to last through the morning but with the investigation complete, crews reopened the lanes of traffic.

No other information about the crash was immediately available.
