COLUMBIA, SC : One dead two injured after crash in Lexington County on Sunday, 20th October 2024

South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP) says one person is dead and two others are injured after a fatal collision in Lexington County this morning.

Troopers say the crash happened around 9:20 a.m. on South Lake Drive near Blue Field Road.

The crash happened when a Dodge van traveling west on South Lake Drive collided with a Dodge pickup heading east.

Both the driver and passenger in the van were taken to the hospital. However, the driver later died from injuries sustained from the crash. The victim was later identified as 46-year-old Pelion native Virginia Ellen Burtle.
