Leicester, NY : Car crashes into farm combine on Perry Road near County Line Road on Tuesday, October 28, 2014

The Livingston County Sheriff's Office is investigating an accident involving a farm combine and car. Deputies said Elizabeth Newland, 72, attempted to pass the combine on Route 30 around 6:34 a.m. Tuesday, but another vehicle was coming in the opposite direction. Deputies said Newland tried to come back in her lane, but struck the combine causing both to spin out of control. Newland had to be extricated from the car by several fire companies. She was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital, but her injuries are not life threatening. The driver of the combine was not injured. No charges or tickets have been issued at this time.
