BARTOW, FL : Bartow police identify victims of 2-vehicle crash on Saturday, November 26th 2016

Morning on U.S. 17 South have been identified by the Bartow Police Department.

Dwaine Williams, 73, and Daphine Myers, 79, both of Wauchula were killed about 9:25 a.m. Saturday when Earl Williams, 81, of Wauchula, who was driving a four-door Cadillac, turned west onto Ernest M. Smith Boulevard from U.S. 17 in front of a passenger van being driven south by Jose Acosta, 47, of Winter Haven.

Witnesses told investigators that the southbound traffic on U.S. 17 had a green light.Acosta and Earl Williams were taken to Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

This investigation remains ongoing and charges may be filed later. Alcohol is not thought to be a factor at this time. There is no other information currently available.
