PETERSBURG, VA : Crash on I-85 causes delays, 4-mile backup on Thursday, 22nd June 2023

A vehicle crash on Interstate 85 caused significant delays to drivers in the city of Petersburg on Thursday morning.

The crash was first reported by VDOT around 7:45 a.m. and was located on I-85 North near the I-95 exit.

According to VDOT, the north right shoulder and the north exit ramps were closed or narrowed. At one point, there was a 4-mile-long backup.
