Wood County ,WI : Scott Carlson, 38, Killed after hit by a car driven by his roommate on Saturday ,July 25th 2015

The man killed while riding his motorcycle on Saturday was hit by a car driven by his roommate and former girlfriend, according to the Wood County Sheriff's Department.

Officials said the man killed was identified as Scott Carlson, 38, of Nekoosa. The woman driving the car was Jessica Hendricks, 29, also of Nekoosa.

Sheriff's officials say Carlson was headed westbound on State Highway 173 on a motorcycle approaching Kimball Avenue in the Township of Port Edwards when the following car, driven by Hendricks, hit the rear of the bike.

Carlson was pronounced dead at the scene. Hendricks was taken to Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids with non-life-threatening injuries.

A portion of State Highway 173 was closed following the crash, but has been reopened.
