Santa Rosa Beach, FL : Louisiana motorcyclist killed in U.S. 98 collision on Saturday, February 25th 2017

A fatal collision involving a car and motorcycle at the intersection of U.S. Highway 98 and West Hewett Road in Walton County claimed the life of a Louisiana man on Saturday afternoon.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol news release, John Brimer Jr., 60, of Metairie, Louisiana, was traveling south on West Hewett Road at 3:45 p.m. on a 2004 Buell Lightning motorcycle when a 2008 Suzuki Forenza driven by Segei Kalmatcui of Santa Rosa Beach pulled out in front of him from a stop sign at the Walmart Supercenter.
The motorcycle struck the left side of the Forenza causing the fatal injuries suffered by Brimer, who was pronounced dead at Sacred Heart Hospital of the Emerald Coast in Miramar Beach. Brimer was wearing a helmet, according to FHP.
Charges are pending, but the release noted Kalmatcui — who was not injured — violated the right of way of the motorcycle at the time of the accident.
