HENRY COUNTY, VA : 66-year-old man dies in Henry County crash on Tuesday, 17th September 2024

A 66-year-old man has died after a Tuesday crash in Henry County, according to Virginia State Police.

Police say officers received reports at 10:53 p.m. of a single-vehicle crash on Route 57.

According to police, the driver of a Land Rover was traveling east, ran off the right side of the road and struck an embankment. The car then overturned and ejected the driver.

The driver was identified as Ray D. Smith, 66 of Axton. Police say Smith was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by Virginia State Police.
