MANATEE, FL : Ramp to Interstate 75 in Manatee County reopened after crash on Wednesday, 29th August 2018

An entrance ramp to Interstate 75 in Manatee County reopened Wednesday morning after a crash closed the ramp for hours, according to Florida Highway Patrol’s live traffic map.

An FHP crash report said a semi truck was northbound on the entrance ramp to I-75 at University Parkway around 5:43 a.m. Wednesday but went into the curve too fast. The truck’s load shifted and caused the semi to overturn on its right side and blocked two lanes of the entrance ramp.

Troopers closed the northbound entrance ramp from University Parkway to I-75 early Wednesday after the crash due to debris and emergency and recovery vehicles.

The driver of the semi, a 29-year-old Sarasota man, was charged with driving too fast for the conditions. He reported minor injuries from the crash, according to FHP.
