Eden, NC : Three people died in Tractor-trailer crash in Rockingham County on Wednesday morning, Nov 4, 2015

Authorities say a tractor-trailer driver has been charged in a crash that killed three people in Rockingham County.

Highway Patrol officials tell local media outlets that Patrick A. Sandifer of Stoneville has been charged with three counts of misdemeanor death by motor vehicle following Wednesday morning's crash. It was not clear if he has an attorney.

Authorities say Sandifer's rig that hit a vehicle and knocked it into oncoming traffic. Authorities say a flatbed truck then hit the car, killing all three people inside.

Officials say 68-year-old Deloras Willoughby and her 24-year-old granddaughter Beth Yvonne Dickens, both of Eden, died at the scene.

Trooper Chris Knox says Willoughby's 3-year-old great-grandson later died at a hospital.
