Kansas City,KS : Man charged with murder after a double fatal crash following a police chase in KCK on October, Monday 2nd 2017
The Wyandotte County District Attorney's Office has filed murder charges against the driver of a vehicle that reportedly eluded police Monday before crashing, killing two passengers.
Zackery Smith, 20, has been charged with two counts of Felony Murder in the 1st Degree, one count of Felony Interference with Law Enforcement, one count of Felony Eluding a Police Officer and one count of No Driver’s License in Possession.
That vehicle made an illegal wide turn while driving northbound on 94th Street and struck a westbound vehicle near Parallel Parkway.
Two of the people in that car were killed.
They have been identified as 27-year-old Jason Edwards of Kansas City, Mo., and 23-year-old Amber Bledsoe of Prairie Village, Kan.
Court records show Smith attempted to run from that crash scene. He was later taken into custody and taken to an area hospital for treatment.
