Eugene, OR : One dead in crash on Highway 58 southeast of Pleasant Hill on Wednesday, December 28th 2016

Oregon State Police said one person died Wednesday night in a single-vehicle crash on Highway 58 about four miles southeast of Pleasant Hill.

Sgt. Kyle Hove, an OSP public information officer, said details still were developing regarding how the accident happened.

He said only that three people were in the vehicle, and one of them died at the crash site. Two others were taken by ambulance to an unspecified hospital.

The crash happened about 7:30 p.m., and traffic near the site still was being delayed by about 20 minutes shortly before 10 p.m., according to the Oregon Department of Transportation’s TripCheck map.

Hove said via email that further details would be released as they become available.
