JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL : UAB Police Sgt killed in crash involving 18-wheeler in McCalla on Monday, 11th September 2023

A UAB Police Sergeant is dead after a crash in McCalla on Monday.The sheriff's office says 61-year-old Marvin Wade Hart was the driver of a Ford Ranger that was involved in a wreck with an 18-wheeler. Hart was taken to taken to UAB West Hospital for treatment, but succumbed to injuries.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said the crash happened just before noon at the intersection of McAshan Rd and Old Tuscaloosa Highway.
