Gully, MN : One injured after SUV crashes into school bus carrying 15 children in northwest Minnesota on Monday morning, March 27, 2017

A Grygla, Minn., man was injured Monday morning after he crashed an SUV into a Clearbrook-Gonvick Public School bus carrying 15 children.

The Minnesota State Patrol and Polk County Sheriff's Office responded to the crash at 7:23 a.m. at State Highway 92 and County Road 2 in Gully, about 50 miles east of Crookston. The school bus driven by Scott Wayne Bakke, 53, of Gonvick, Minn., was eastbound on Highway 92 and was turning north onto County Road 2 when a 2006 Pontiac Torrent driven by Scott Alan Aune, 53, of Grygla ran a stop sign while driving south on County Road 2 and hit the side of the bus, according to a crash report.

Aune was taken to Essentia Health in Fosston, Minn., and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Alcohol was not involved.

Preliminary reports say Bakke and the children did not suffer serious injuries as they were not taken to a hospital for treatment, State Patrol Sgt. Jesse Grabow said.
