Moore County, N.C : One person killed and second injured after a two vehicle wreck near Pinehurst on Friday, March 18, 2016

One person was killed and a second was transported to a local hospital after a two vehicle wreck Friday around 8:30 p.m. near Pinehurst, according to the Aberdeen Times.

The wreck involved a Toyota Tundra pickup truck and a Honda CRV.

The driver of the Honda, a 49-year-old man, was declared dead at the scene. The victim was pinned inside, requiring firefighters to use hydraulic powered rescue tools.

The driver of the Toyota, a 63-year-old man, was transported by ambulance to FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst with non-life threatening injuries.

The Pinehurst Fire Department, Moore County EMS, Pinehurst Police Department and NC State Highway patrol all responded to the wreck.

Officials have not released the identities of the victims. No additional information was released.
