SPRINGFIELD, IL : Chain reaction crash in Springfield sends 2 to hospital on Monday, 16th December, 2019

A chain reaction crash at a red light on Bicentennial Highway Monday night sent two people to the hospital, police said.

The crash occurred about 5:45 p.m. as four vehicles stopped for the light at Allen Street, Ryan Walsh, spokesman for Springfield police, said. A fifth driver rear-ended the last vehicle in line, causing a chain reaction crash that involved all of the vehicles

The fifth driver was cited, Walsh said. Two of the victims were taken to the hospital for evaluation.
