A head-on collision between two commercial trucks has claimed the life of a New Mexico man. The New Mexico State Police says 39-year-old Stephen Houghtaling of Lake Arthur was killed Sunday on State Route 128 near Loving when his truck pulling a flatbed trailer collided with a tanker tractor-trailer. The tanker's driver, 47-year-old Isidrio Hernandez of El Paso, Texas, was hospitalized in Lubbock with serious injuries. Cause of the investigation is under investigation. However, the State Police says Houghtaling's vehicle crossed the center line before the collision and that alcohol does not appear to be a contributing factor.
