FAIRMONT, WV : Tractor trailer accident on I-79 sends one to Ruby on April, Tuesday 11th 2017
An accident involving a tractor trailer at the 140 mile marker of I-79 southbound sent one person to Ruby Memorial Hospital around 7 p.m. April 10.
According to a press release from the Fairmont Detachment of the West Virginia State Police, the driver, George Gay, 37, of Clarksburg, traveled off the left side of the roadway to avoid a vehicle that had stopped due to a deer in the road. The tractor trailer landed on its side in the median.
Gay sustained non-life threatening injuries.
Winfield and Valley volunteer fire departments responded to the scene along with State Police, Marion County Sheriff’s Department and Marion County Rescue Squad, according to Marion County 911.
