State Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash Thursday night on Route 24.
Police said Joshua Silva, 22, of Seekonk, was declared dead at the scene following the crash that occurred at approximately 10:25 p.m.
According to police, a preliminary investigation indicates Silva was operating a 2006 EX650 motorcycle on Route 24 north when, for reasons still under investigation, it veered into the guardrail on the right side of the highway. Silva was then thrown from the motorcycle. The motorcycle was located approximately a quarter-mile from the original crash scene.
Police did not provide a specific location for the crash other than to say it occurred in Fall River.The crash remains under investigation by Trooper Sean Hennessey with assistance from the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction, Bristol County State Police Detective Unit, Crime Scene Services Section and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. Members of the Fall River Fire Department and MassDOT assisted at the scene.
