Findlay, OH : Rachel DeWeese, 22, died following crash on County 212 Thursday night, November 3, 2016

A rural Findlay woman died Friday following a car crash Thursday night.

Rachel DeWeese, 22, died at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo.

Around 9:46 p.m. Thursday, DeWeese was driving east on Hancock County 212 when her car went underneath a tractor-trailer that was turning west onto the road from the Best Buy Distribution Center, 14401 County 212. The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office said her 2004 Pontiac Grand Am traveled under the trailer and came to a stop in a field on the north side of the road.

William Hudson Jr., 50, of Granite Falls, North Carolina, was driving the 1994 GMC tractor and was not injured, the sheriff’s office said.

DeWeese was first taken to Blanchard Valley Hospital, then transported to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center by medical helicopter.
