POTTAWATOMIE COUNTY, OK : Two women die in crash near Tecumseh on Wednesday, December, 27th 2017

Authorities have released the identities of two women who died Wednesday evening in a head-on collision on U.S. 177 south of Tecumseh.

The Oklahoma Department of Public Safety said a car driven by 37-year-old Gloria Sanchez of Oklahoma City was headed northbound on the two-lane highway when she attempted to pass another vehicle in a no-passing zone around 6:30 p.m.

Sanchez' Kia Spectra slammed into a southbound Ford Escape driven by Rosemary Davis, 49, of Stonewall.

Davis was pronounced dead at the scene; Sanchez died later at a hospital in Shawnee.
