Fairfax, OK : Stillwater man involved in Osage County fatality accident Wednesday, March 29, 2017
A Stillwater man was injured Wednesday in a collision in Osage County that killed another driver.
According to a release from Troop K of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Justin Lowe, 28, of Stillwater, was driving a tractor trailer northbound about three miles south of Fairfax on state Highway 18 at about 11:14 a.m. when his truck left the roadway for an unknown reason.
It came back onto the road and struck the driver’s side of a pick-up driven by Charles Cordwell Jr., 72, of Shidler.
Cordwell was pinned in his vehicle for 2.5 hours before being freed by the Fairfax Fire Department. He was pronounced dead at the scene from massive injuries sustained in the collision.
Lowe was transported by ambulance to Fairfax Hospital in stable condition then transferred to an unknown hospital in Tulsa. He was expected to be admitted for trunk internal, arm and leg injuries.
The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
