Wilcox, NE : 17-year-old dies in single-vehicle crash in Phelps County early Tuesday morning, December 29, 2015

A teenage boy died from injuries he suffered in an early Tuesday morning rollover accident in Phelps County.

Sheriff's Sgt. Jamie Tilson said Parker Sturgis, 17, of Wilcox was driving westbound on a road that runs between Wilcox and Atlanta when he went off the road and hit a culvert.

The vehicle rolled several times and he was thrown clear, Tilson said in a news release. Sturgis, the only person in the vehicle, died at a Holdrege hospital.
