Shallotte, N.C : Leland man dies in Jeep crash near Winnabow on Monday night, March 20, 2017

A Leland man died after the Jeep he and two passengers were riding in overturned in a single-vehicle crash near Winnabow on Monday night, March 20, North Carolina State Highway Patrol Trooper C.M. Blackwell said.

Travis Norton, 26, was driving at a high rate of speed while driving south on Funston Road, Blackwell said.

Norton, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the Jeep after he lost control of it and it flipped, caught on fire and landed in the road.
