WINTERSVILLE, OH : Patrol investigating Route 43 wreck on Saturday, October, 28th 2017

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-car wreck which occurred around 2:30 a.m. Saturday on state Route 43, near Richmond.

The patrol reported a 2005 Pontiac Sunfire, operated by Michael Larkins, 35, of Richmond, was traveling south on state Route 43. A 1998 Ford Escort, operated by Michael Drake, 47, of Canton, was traveling north on the road, according to the patrol. The Larkins vehicle struck the Drake vehicle, resulting in both drivers being flown by medical helicopter to a Pittsburgh hospital, a trooper reported.

Richmond, Wintersville and East Springfield fire departments responded, in addition to the patrol and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department, the patrol reported.
