Allentown, PA : Driver injured as car crashes into tree near Slatington on Monday night, March 6, 2017

One person was injured Monday night in northern Lehigh County when a car crashed into a tree on Mountain Road, according to emergency radio reports.

The accident was reported 8:05 p.m. in front of 5030 Mountain Road, east of Reservoir Road in Heidelberg Township, officials radioed. The driver was trapped in the car about 15 minutes until a fire rescue team opened up the vehicle.

Information on the driver's injuries was not available.

State police at Bethlehem were investigating. New Tripoli and Germansville fire companies were on the scene, as was Northern Valley EMS.
