Johnstown, PA : Motorcycle passenger hurt in collisio on Saturday, 13th August, 2016

A Meyersdale woman suffered moderate injuries in a van-motorcycle crash Saturday on Route 160 in Southampton Township.

State police in Somerset said Jeffrey Sechler, 53, of Meyersdale, was turning his Yamaha motorcycle from the road into a driveway and failed to signal he was preparing to turn.

A Dodge Journey driven by Carolyn Theodora Bridges,69, of Meyersdale was traveling in the same direction and struck the motorcycle in the right rear, despite the driver’s efforts to get onto the berm to avoid a collision, police said in a report.

Bridges was traveling an “insignificant distance” behind the cycle when it attempted to turn, police said.

Julie K. Sechler, 38, of Meyersdale, was a passenger on the bike and was treated for unspecified injuries, police said.
