Ashville, AL : South Carolina man dies in fiery crash on 1-20 west in St. Clair County on Tuesday, July 12, 2016

A South Carolina man died in the fiery multi-vehicle car wreck on Interstate 20 westbound in St. Clair County, Alabama State Troopers said.

Allen Robert Talley III, 49, was pronounced dead at the scene after the 2015 Peterbilt left the road and hit a 2013 Freightliner parked on the shoulder. Talley was a passenger in the Peterbilt, troopers said.

The crash happened about 6:26 a.m. at mile marker 162 between Riverside and Pell City on Tuesday. The Peterbilt driver, Theresa Diahann Talley, 48, was transported to UAB Hospital in Birmingham for her injuries.

The driver of the Freightliner was not injured, troopers said.

Interstate 20 was closed for a few hours following the wreck.
