Two-vehicle crash shuts down Rawsonville Road intersection
The intersection of Rawsonville Road and West Huron River Drive in Van Buren Township is closed as emergency crews respond to a two-vehicle crash.
An accident between a vehicle and a semi truck at the intersection about 7 a.m. Monday prompted dispatchers to call the University of Michigan Health System's Survival Flight unit to respond, according to Van Buren Township Police and Fire dispatchers.
Survival Flight transported one patient to a U-M hospital Monday morning, said Kara Gavin, UMHS spokeswoman.
Huron Valley Ambulance did not transport any patients from the scene, said spokeswoman Joyce Williams.
The number of passengers involved was not immediately known. Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office deputies are on scene to assist with traffic control, dispatchers told The Ann Arbor News.
As of 9:45 a.m. Monday the intersection remained closed.
