A Ford Fusion driven by 27-year-old Christopher Mitchell reportedly struck a motorcycle carrying two people near 61st Street and Yale Avenue about 9 p.m. Both riders were thrown from the motorcycle and were hospitalized in serious but stable condition, police said.
The Fusion fled east on 61st Street at a high rate of speed before crashing into a Mitsubishi Galant that was making a westbound turn from Saint Francis Hospital, according to police. Stacie Dry, 22, who was driving the Galant, died in the collision.
