Charlotte, N.C : One person injued after Multi-vehicle crash near Sharon Forest Drive on Thursday morning, April 9, 2015

Emergency crews had to close multiple lanes of Independence Blvd. after a crash early Thursday morning.

Traffic was backing up after the crash in the inbound median near Sharon Forest Drive around 7:35 a.m. involving an SUV and a sedan.

Officials had one lane inbound blocked and two outbound lanes closed while emergency crews investigated.

Medic said one person was rushed to Carolinas Medical Center from the crash with life-threatening injuries and another with minor injuries.

Drivers are urged to avoid the area.
