OAKLAND, CA : Driver arrested after car crashes into house on Tuesday, 10th September 2019

The driver of a car that crashed into a house early Tuesday near a freeway off-ramp in East Oakland was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, the California Highway Patrol said.

Both the driver, a 24-year-old woman, and a 34-year-old man who was a passenger in the 2014 Nissan Maxima, were injured and were hospitalized.

No one inside the house was hurt, authorities said.

The crash was reported at 12:44 a.m. Tuesday in the 3300 block of 35th Avenue near Suter Street, which is not far from the eastbound off-ramp to 35th Avenue from Interstate 580.
