Indianapolis, IN :Three children critical, but stable after U.S. 31 accident on Tuesday, July 14th 2015

Three children were critically injured in a minivan that collided with a semi at U.S. 31 and Lowell Road.Jose Rocha, 7, Columbus, and siblings Luccila Morales, 7, and Abigail Morales, 5, both of Seymour, were listed in critical but stable condition Tuesday at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, said Sgt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police spokesman.Two of the three were taken to Riley by helicopter and the third was transported there after the accident at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Harris said.
The driver of the minivan, Ana Mateo, 50, Logansport, the children's grandmother, was attempting to cross the southbound lanes of U.S. 31 when she collided with the semi, Harris said.For more on this story, see Wednesday's Republic.
