Three area residents were taken to the hospital after a crash Wednesday, Kansas Highway Patrol officials said.
Samuel Kassing, 29, of Manhattan was driving a 1994 Toyota Camry south on Kansas Highway 177 at 12:09 p.m. about 14 miles south of Manhattan. His vehicle left the road and entered the west ditch. Kassing then overcorrected into the northbound lane and collided with a 2015 GMC Sierra driven by Paula Bruce, 52, Alta Vista.
Kassing, his passenger Stephen Karst, 24, Manhattan, and Bruce were all taken to Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan for treatment of their injuries.
Kassing was transferred to Stormont Vail for further treatment. Calls to Stormont Vail were not returned by press time.
Bruce was treated and released from Via Christi, a hospital spokeswoman said. The spokeswoman also said Karst, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, was not treated.
