Victorville,CA : Rollover crash takes out stop light in Old Town Victorville on October, Wednesday 18th 2017

Despite taking down a stop light, officials said a woman suffered minor injuries after a rollover crash on Seventh Street Wednesday afternoon.

Reported just before 2 p.m., the crash occurred at the intersection of Seventh Street and Forrest Avenue and involved a woman in a black Nissan Z coupe. San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department officials said only minor injuries were reported, despite damages to a traffic light and pedestrian crossing light at the intersection.

Victorville Sheriff’s Station Deputy Amir Awad said the woman was headed north on Seventh Avenue at a “high rate of speed” and somehow lost control of her vehicle. The car jumped the curb, crashed into the stoplight on Forrest Avenue and overturned, Awad said.

The woman was the only occupant in the Nissan, and Awad said she was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

“She’s expected to be fine,” Awad said.

Some witnesses on scene said they believed the woman may have been racing with another vehicle prior to the crash. Awad said deputies were still investigating whether another vehicle was involved.
