Garden City, KS : 18-year-old injured in crash on U.S. Highway 83 Wednesday night, May 11, 2016

An 18-year-old Garden City man was injured Wednesday night when his 2004 Ford F-150 pickup truck left the roadway and struck a brick wall at the entrance to the Southwind housing development on U.S. Highway 83.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Mark Perez was southbound on U.S. 83 at 9:50 p.m. Wednesday, when his truck left the roadway going west and struck a light pole. The truck continued on and struck a brick wall at the Southwind entrance.

Perez, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken to St. Catherine Hospital, where he was treated and released.
