Gadsden,AL : Amazing’ 83-year-old Attalla cyclist home after accident on May, Monday 7th 2018

Cyclist Patricia McClain is home and doing well after a collision Monday morning sent her to a Birmingham hospital by helicopter.

It’s an amazing story, McClain’s daughter, Elizabeth Wilson said, and one that should be set straight.

While Alabama State Troopers initially reported that McClain was riding against traffic when a vehicle struck her bicycle, Wilson said that report has been amended.

McClain was riding as cyclists are supposed to, with the flow of traffic on U.S. Highway 11 when the collision occurred.

She said it was upsetting to have a report indicate she was in the wrong, and to have it in the newspaper.
