The mayor of Salisbury was involved in a crash at an intersection on Thursday.
Police said officers responded to a vehicle accident at the intersection of N. Fulton Street and W. Monroe Street at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 6.
Karen Alexander, the mayor of Salisbury, was traveling northeast on N. Fulton Street when she ran the red light at the intersection, police said. When she ran the light, Alexander hit a 2002 Lexis driven by Miles Walker of Salisbury, who was traveling southeast on W. Monroe Street.
Alexander was transported to Novant Rowan Regional Medical Center.
Walker and his passenger, Zaedrian Harris of Salisbury, were not injured.
